Halls of the Dark Muse

Well for some unknown reason ( I choose to plead temporary insanity) this morning I decided I needed to go through all of my books, though I did not really have a determined goal on the reason to do this, the urge had just overcome me to do so.

It is true that I have considered before making a list of all the books I own, because I thought that might help in preventing myself from buying the same book twice, as it has happened before, I will come upon a book that looks interesting, and find out, that apparently I thought it was really interesting, so I already owned it. But in the end, I decided not to tackle that task today, so ultimately I ended up emptying all of my book shelves, with no real purpose or direction in mind. (I still have some books on my bed I haven't yet put back)

Though in the process I was able organize some of my fantasy series books more, group those together that got scattered in different places, and I did some shuffling and rearranging of books around. I was also able to get rid of some books, primarily Young Adult books that I picked up when I was young adult, but even then I always had too many books, so I never got around to reading them, and now decided I don't really need to read them anymore.

It was also kind of cool find my horror stash, on one of my shelves the front row of books were mostly more recent books I got, but then behind those it was primarily all horror novels (granted many of them probably B-rate horror, guilty pleasure type of stuff) but it was fun going through those because many I had forgot I even had, having had them around for sometime.

I also in the process got to play one of my favorite games, what I like to call Book Jenga, restaking precarrious stakcs of books in a way that will not cause an avalance.
