I Hate This Paperwork!!!!

I cannot wait until we finish all this paperwork for our Dossier!!!! My stress levels have probably been off the charts My husband tells me I can't handle stress which I find to be untrue but he will still tell you otherwise. What I can't tolerate is some of this BS that I am encountering so I have to keep reminding myself to suck it up and remember the pot of gold that is waiting for us at the end of the rainbow.

I went to my husband's doctor yesterday for him to fill out the medical papers and get a copy of his license. He asked me if I sent the letter to the Education Dept for the Verification letter that is needed for his license and I said I did. He then goes on talking about my husband and how nice he is and I'm thinking "are we talking about the same person" I asked him if he will be my new primary doctor and he said of course. Good riddance to my old doctor that SOB!!!

We now have another dilemna which pisses me off the most . As I stated previously all paperwork MUST NOT BE OLDER THAN 4 months at time of submission and that ALL LICENSES MUST BE VALID FOR ONE YEAR + 4 MONTHS at time of submission. I was reviewing our Home Study and noticed that our Social Worker's license expires July 2010. I thought, Oh Crap!!! I'm going to need another letter. I call the Home Study Agency and explain the situation. I'm thinking this should be easy afterall they will definitely understand the situation and do it willingly. WRONG!!!! I am told they cannot get this letter since they do not know what his standing will be at time of expiration. I read her the instructions on the Dossier and she said "I know this is frustrating". I'm like "Do ya think"!!!. She then proceeded to tell me that she can co-sign the copy of his license since her license expries in 2011. I said I will have to check with my adoption coordinator. So now I am waiting to hear back from coordinator.

It seems that for every 2 steps we take forward something comes up that sets us back. When we started this process I was told that some of the paperwork/process can be frustrating and they weren't kidding.

I guess I am still working on the saying that "Patience is a virtue"

    I'm sorry that there are so many dates to deal with. I don't know how you are managing it. It sounds so hard.

    Patience is a virtue, one I don't have of course, but an important one;) Just keep thinking of how worth it all this headache will be in the end. I know how frustrating it has to be, but there is certainly a wonderful thing to be had at the end of all of this. I guess they could feed you a line about how all the stress is preparing you for being a parent:D In honesty, I think they secretly want to weed out all the people who are adopting on a whim, and they do it by making it such a headache. Any couple that can make it through all of this must certainly want to adopt a child. Both you and your husband hang in there. Much love, Meg

    I just heard from a couple that is using the same adoption agency as we are and they are adopting from the same country as well and their journey sounded more frustrating than mine. They had initially submitted their dossier in January of this year only to have it redone several times due to changes that were instituted then to top it off their notary's license was due to expire so they had to find another notary. It finally got approved this month and are eagerly awaiting their letter of travel in a few months.

    The thinking must be that if you cn survive the paperwork and bureuracy then you cna survive the teeenage years. Prayers are with you and I know it will work out for you two. Hang in there.

    Why is it that no woman believes their husband is nice? If it makes you feel any better, my wife thinks I'm a jerk too.

    Wow, there sure is a lot of headaches in the process -- bureaucracy -- a pain in the proverbial butt. But as you so rightly said, it will be so worth it in the end. My heart goes out to you and your husband for all these "one step forward and two steps back" twists in your journey for the little one. Hang in there.
