So as many of you know, i've been having a lot of issues lately with my shoulder, neck and upper back. some of it is muscular...
Well today i added another piece to the disaster that is me at the moment...
Yesterday i started getting a slight pain in my lower chest. put it down to a chill and possibly getting a chest infection... today the real meaning to the pain hit me tenfold.
I was serving behind a till in one of the shops when a pain like no other i have ever experienced shot across my central abdomen. I was buckled over in pain. I couldnt straighten up, couldnt walk, and couldnt breathe deeply with out searing pain shooting through me. I didnt know what was going on. Two hours later i was being set down in A&E. Two hours later you say? yep! I was being my usual stubborn self and refusing to get medical attention and sat in the office for almost an hour until i needed to pop out to the loo...i got about four yards before the superviser who was on with me ended up calling for help and ten minutes later i had the paramedics looking after me.
I spent six hours in A&E. Had bloods, x-rays and samples done. all clear. nothing wrong with my heart, lungs or tummy.
I dont know how i did it, but i managed to pull the muscles in my Diaphram/ intercostal area below my lungs( under rib cage). The pain was agonising.
So i've been written off work till monday. joy. going to spend all day tomorrow resting, and will have a long soak in a nice hot bath to ease the muscles.
Why cant i just have a good year healthwise!!!!

For a horrible moment I thought you had a heart attack and feel a little relieved it was something not as life threatening. Their is no easy way to say that and not osund vacuous but am glad you are ok.

Like Mtpspur, I thought it was something to do with your heart but I am relieved that it is more a muscle related problem. With a little rest, you will be feel better hopefully.

    Take care!

I started to read this and thought OMG something serious happened (not to make light of what is actually wrong) and am relieved to hear its just a muscle strain. I've pulled some muscles in my chest but not to the extent you did.

Just take it easy for the weekend and curl up with a good book.

Thanks guys! I have no intentions to do anything strenuous. I understand why you would think it might have been my heart. it was one of my thoughts too, that and had the lower parts of my lungs collapsed. didnt know what was going on. But i wasnt nauseuous nor was i dizzy, which to the paramedics was a good sign.
Maybe i did strain them because of the other injuries. I'v had to sleep on my back a lot since the shoulder started acting up, with a pillow under my legs, and i do feel a pulling from that as i am generally a curl up in a ball on my side kind of person. Still sore today but it is more of a tender pain. I only got up 30 mins ago and am going for a nice long soak soon. I'm not leaving the house at all. Thanks for your concern everyone. xxx
