I've been taking each child out of school for one day to have a special day alone with mom. Nothing else much is going on during this time of year because school is nearly over. Last week I took Chaney to a hotel that is allegedly haunted. She was rather disappointed because she thought it would be a spook house kind of haunted. She doesn't believe in real ghosts. But we had a good time window shopping and looking at art.

Today Max had an adventure. We went on a train ride. The engineer, Tom, allowed Max (and myself) to go with him to turn the train around on a turnstile. Max got to start the engine and pull the whistle. After that we rode to the end of the short line in the passenger car. That was rather anticlimactic after being in the engine. At the end we got to smash some change on the tracks and Tom asked Max if he wanted to drive the train back to the station. He did the whistle, bells, and throttle all the way back to the station. I got lots of pictures and I hope to get them on here by the weekend. It was so exciting for him.
