a bit irritated.

I'm stuck at the library.
This would be a good thing but for the fact that I've forbidden myself from borrowing any books from the library before I finish the three or four I've started. (NEED to finish at least Les Mis, In Defense of Poesy, and Notes from the Underground before I go to college!)
The student from Ghana that I tutor didn't show up, and I can't blame her either. She called while I was at junior college, but for the last several weeks I haven't been able to get a hold of her on her phone because every time I call her I'm told that her voicemail hasn't been set up yet. Last time we met she told me she was still trying to figure that out.
So I really don't want to be here, for once in my life. Once my Mom picks me up we're supposed to get Leah and go shopping for clothes to wear at our graduation.
The date for the ceremony is set for May 23, and we'll be having the reception a week later at our house. We're doing it that way because nearly all of my close friends aren't available the evening of May 23 and because a friend is getting married that day. Also, one of my pastor's sons (Shurt's friend Joey) is graduating with me, so our mutual friends from church would want to go to his reception too.
It is SUCH a headache preparing for it. We've been working for a week on invitations alone. We finally got them printed, but we ran out so we made some fliers. We don't have enough fliers either, so we're also sending invites through Facebook AND email. Then of course the rsvp cards. And the senior picture!
I hate taking pictures. The real irony is that Bulletproof LOVES taking pictures.
So I got a haircut for my picture, and showered for three days in a row, thinking each day we'd be able to go get the picture. My hair is now a scratchy looking mess.
Then we found out that we wouldn't get the pictures until after we send the invitations, so we'll be sending them out with the thank-you cards.
Oh, and I'm giving one of the senior addresses and I've barely started and all my notes are at home.. It's due to the organizers by the 15th, and so far the farthest I've gotten is what questions I want to answer in each section of the speech. My topic is "Education as a means of glorifying God." I'm really excited about it; I sent out a few questions to the other graduates so that I could get their input/viewpoints in the speech too. And I want to use quotes from different books. I've got one I'm dying to put in, but the way the speech is going so far I don't think I'll be able to. It's from the YA classic, Johnny Tremain.
And of course, some quotes from LOTR. My cousin is borrowing my copy, so I have to borrow the library's, and they only have ROTK. Maybe I'll borrow mine back from my cousin next time I see him.
I need to email some people too. I started emailing with librarius, which I'm very happy about, and with one of the lit professors from PHC, which I'm very excited about. I'm hoping to invite him to the LitNet; I think he'd like it here.
