Diet ahoy!

Rate this Entry
Now I know alot of people say diet what diet just eat healthy! Thats easy to say though isnt it? I need the word DIET the regimes ( ironically the word used for diets in collouquial arabic) that come with it to force me to eat healthy. Although I might add that my diet is an 'Action Plan' and I hadnt realised quite how out of shape and lets face it obesce I had become till I just got on a pair of scales for the first time in 6-8 months. Ah the world of denial is a lovley place. But no more come morning I am on a DIET. To get healthy. yes this ios a good idea. and lets face it I would like a less fat face in graduation photos.

Good for you! And good luck!

I would say that the last time I had a scale was about a year ago (it has to be that long already). It wasn't functioning right. So I got rid of it. Now, I know how much I weighed then, but I have no idea what I weigh now. I do know that I have gained weight by the way that my clothes fit. I seriously can't lose weight just by eating "healthy" or anything like that. I need to actually workout. I hadn't been feeling too great over the past year and a half, or so, and I just quit doing anything really physical all together. That is how I know I gained the weight. I really don't eat all that much, nor do I really eat unhealthy foods, but I am seriously lacking in exercise. My mind has been made up for some time now to get back into the swing of things with pilates, ballet, et.c. I have also decided to not own a scale ever again. For now on I am going to focus more on my measurements rather than a weight. I don't know why, but it seems that I am happier seeing that the waist has gone down an inch rather than see the number gone down one on a scale. But exercise is 100% my diet plan.

So since I am going through the same thing right now, I am giving you my full support and best wishes!!

Honestly, I am really curious to know what I weigh, but at the same time, it is SO good not knowing! If I find out, I will probably obsess over it. That is why I think it is better that I focus on losing inches rather than pounds.

The time before last when I went to the doctor, the nurse said "Do you want to know your weight?". I said "No". She smiled and said "OK". Then I thought to myself "Oh my God, what do I weigh that she asked me if I wanted to hear it and didn't just tell me? I couldn't have gained that much!". I know I didn't but it was kind of funny that she did that.

I know you are getting advice from everyone and I hope it isn't too unwanted!! But I would say, vegetarian with plenty of fruits and vegetables and all, and nothing with any processed sugar in it - except bread as it's hard to avoid - and then finally, walking as much as possible... I walk at least 2-3 miles every day and generally or often more, 5-7.. just my (again, hopefully not unwanted) opinion or advice.. :p:p

but, walking is important, and also drinking plenty of water... doing exercises, I mean strecthing, yoga, and Tai Chi, plus breathing exercises.. I mean these are all things I do which I am very glad I learned because they are beneficial. Also, meditation itself can actually help in weight loss.

    I hope I wasn't too much of a bother. :)

Oh and about diet again... in my own diet.. I eat only sugar-free anything I can find, like peanut butter, jam, yogurt, and I try to get my sugar from fruits, and so on.. of course bread gives sugar, too.. But it's important to keep the sugar-blood-level up to a certain point, otherwise I don't feel too good, but I think it's good to give the body natural sugars for a while, and then if I feel I need a bit more sugar for my blood-sugar-level, then if I eat something with a little sugar in it, along with some other food, then it feels better than if I hadn't given my body only natural sugars for some time.

Okay I hope this wasn't too much information about my diet! hm... :)

hehe Thanks everyone, see the thing is I walk over 10 miles a week anyway everyweek, it has no affect on me whatsoever, I guess this is a side effect of walking 13+ miles in under four hours frequently in the past sothat now well anything less than that doesnt seem to do much for me. My main problem is I cant write an essay without constaly snaking on junkfood ( a left over from year one when I lived on family bags of doritos, pasta and fruit juice) .
But yes excersise excersise, excersise is the plann, now that its light out I might get up and run in the park before 6 in the morning I found this amazingly mind freeing earlier in the year when I had my strress meltdown. Unfortunaly I am banned from swiming for another -oh look at that only 12 months left and there are pilates evening classes and such I can go to now Im more or less throuigh with uni. Its all good!
