Dawn Chorus

First light & the birds
Sing like they have gone crazy,
& the dawn chorus
A cacophony
Of crazy avian noise
Echoes around me.
I would love to know
What excites them so early
To start the racket.
Why they start to 'sing'
& why they suddenly stop
Then turn down the sound?
