I bought Isabel Allende's Zorro that came out about a year or two back and found her readable and HER version of Zorro is actually being used in the current comic book series as a basis for Diego de la Vega so she gets props for that at least.

Ooh, I haven't read a Calvino novel in a long time. I haven't read those. If you ever have the opportunity D-M read The Baron In The Trees. I think you will love that one. Oh and I know you'll love Lady Chatterly. That's a perfect fit for you. And Dostoyevesky is incredible. Not sure if you'll like him, but he's incredible. I think I've read that Vreeland novel. it was only ok. The God of Small Things was good but not great.

I have not read Dostoyevesky yet, but I have a growing attrraction for the Russian's in general from what I have read thus far.

I have read some essays and poetry by Roy which I found interesting, I have a fascination with India
