So its been over a month no since i last had a cigarette and i think i may be over the hard part. (i hope!) Although my trip to Edinburgh next month will be a challege seeing as a few of the girls i'm going with smoke.
But this entry is not about the whole yeay me one month thing, its about my plan to help me get over my munching issue.
Most of my munching happens when i'm off work. I only get one in three weekends off, so all my other days off are during the week and my friends are always in work so i spend my days sitting in an armchair, either reading, writing, listening to music, on here or another site, or talking to people online. So, plenty of opertunities to just sit and munch.
Now, i could be doing something more productive during the day to stop me from munching and putting all the weight i lost over the last year back on, and i thought, well i love walking so i could do that...but i walk for around 8- 9 hours a day when i'm in work. Now i love to cycle, but havent had a bike in years, and was meant to buy one last year but Australia came along instead. so this is the plan. This week i'm going to buy a bike and on my days off if its not raining, i'm going to go cycling for a couple of hours. There are plenty of lovely spots not far from me, like Malahide and Howth. There is also a great cycle track along the coast from Sutton to Clontarf that i can cycle along.
Now its hard to cycle and munch so thats great. Its also hard to cycle and smoke so i wont be tempted. And i can bring a note book and pen with me and write if i stop for a break... or a book to read. I can also bring my camera and snap lots of pics of beautiful North Dublin. Its also a way to get fitter than i am.
So hopefully on thurs i'll have my bike and cycling my munching away by friday.
Yet that all depends on my shoulder. Its still in a bad way. I'm off to see the doc tomorrow. First time i can say i'm happy to be going to see my doc!
