Most people are aware, at some level, of their conscious mind. Few, however, are fully aware of their subconscious mind. The subconscious is in many ways our link to the mystical. It is closer to the unborn range of our being. In this relation, the subconscious mind holds the key to a greater expanse and range of being.

It is difficult to explain the nature of one's being, but it is very important to know. We seem to exist as living beings. Our unborn nature is eternal. This is something which is generally unknown until one dies.

Before we were born, we were sort of unborn, at one with the universe. Eternally part of the universe, yet unmanifest. The mystical union with the universe is a sort of infinity.

The conscious soul, if it becomes aware of itself as conscious mind and subconscious mind, becomes possessed of a greater expanse or ground of being. One's roots are in the earth no less than the roots of grass, and one's existence is no more fleeting than the grass, or in life itself. One's roots are actually in the source of life, manifest and unmanifest.

The subconscious mind is closer to this source, in some ways, because it is a great expanse of being. It is much closer to the eternal, unborn nature, so it is not worried with anything, anything at all which the conscious mind concerns itself with. The subconscious mind holds all the keys of fulfillment which the conscious mind seeks: health, love, bliss, peace. If one knows oneself, then one knows things without knowing, as the Daoist phrase goes. One knows - realizes - without effort.
