it's about nothing

I wanted to do a blog, but I don’t really have anything new to blog about. Nothing new with me. But I’ll ramble on for a bit and see what comes out.

My rabbits had babies again. Over a dozen babies and they all died again. I don’t know what is going wrong. I’m going to have to call in some help on this one. I’m so sick of dead bunnies.

My hens are hiding eggs again. Last week we found 40 eggs hidden in the yard and we weren’t even looking for them. There are a lot of places in the yard that the hens go that people can’t go. I wonder how many thousands of eggs are in there. I have four hens sitting and should have chicks in another week or so. I have four more wanting to sit. I may let them in another couple of weeks. I have 8 roosters that are going to the block in another two weeks. I don’t have time to work them all up right now. I have three that I’m going to keep. I know it’s too many, but they are so beautiful that I just want them. I have over 30 hens so I think 3 roosters will be OK. They don’t fight with each other.

My last assignment is due in 9 days. I’ll be so glad to be done with this semester. I think that’s all I say. I have a regular semester in the fall then I’ll do my internship. I’m very excited about that.

Once that is done I’ll chop some roosters and put my garden out. I missed all of the winter veggies and I’m really sad about it. I had to buy potatoes today and felt a little upset knowing I would be buying potatoes all year long. That stinks. I still have a ton of canned veggies in the basement. I guess I over did it last year. I’m planning on overdoing it this year as well. I like knowing that there is a ton of stuff down there.

See, nothing new at all.

OH, I just thought of something kind of funny. As many of you know we live in a really tiny community and we have close ties with another really tiny community. We are really involved with both communities. Our little town is so small that the post office looks at the name instead of the address. My husband got a letter from the public defender on Thursday. I got the mail and I found that as kind of odd. He’s a policeman, among other things, and usually any lawyer letters go to the sheriff’s office or are at least from the prosecuting attorney. So I opened the letter and it said he was to be in court the next day regarding the state of Arkansas vs. my husband. So I called the public defender to find out what was going on and it turns out that another guy with the same name has moved into our town. We were talking about it and I realized that the address was wrong. We’ll have to let the post office know that there are two!

Great story on the letter mishap. What are the odds of two people in such a small town having the same name? I assume they are not related.

The bunny situation sounds like a virus or something like that.

Let me see three roosters for thirty hens. A ten to one ratio. Not bad. They live the life until their ready for the chopping block.

Garden time and I've not done anything out there. I'm just way too busy to take time off from work.

I had no idea you lived in a small town. It may have been about nothing but it caught my eye.
As far as the hens go, it is easter now, so you can go hunting around your yard for eggs! Virgil said it, a 10 to one ratio of male to female sounds about right to me.
My experiance with chickens is limited to the small coup my ranch has. One rooster and about 15 hens I'd say. We just keep them for the owners kids but you cant complain about fresh eggs!

Wow, I could never deal with all those things. I hope you find out what is wrong with the bunnies soon!

I kind of wish the rabbits had survived also. Glad the lawsuit was for someone else not you guys.
