What started out as a so-so day has turned into a very happy day and an early birthday present.

After coming home from my walk, I got the mail. As I was going thru it I noticed an envelope from Homeland Security. At first I was too nervous to open it up because I was thinking, it's too soon for our approval to come thru. I have read where it can take up to 3 months if not longer. It has been 51 days since I had mailed it in and we had our last set of fingerprints done on April 6 which had completed that process.

I decided to open the envelope and started reading. When I saw the words CONGRATULATIONS, the smile on my face could have lit up a dark room. I started dancing and my dog couldn't figure out why I was acting a little crazy. I immediately called my husband at work and screamed into the phone WE GOT APPROVED, WE GOT OUR APPROVAL!!!! I called at a bad time so he said he'd have to call me back. I then said to myself, I have to call my mother. I called her and said WE GOT OUR APPROVAL, WE GOT OUR APPROVAL!!!. At first she didn't know what I was talking about so I had to calm down and tell her. She said that was great news but wanted to know what that means. It means we can now start on our Dossier ( the dreaded 23 pages of documents that need to be notarized and appostilled).

My husband then called me back and we were able to talk. He also said to me, "what does that mean?". I told him we can now start on our Dossier. We are now one step closer to our dream.

I also recieved an email form our adoption coordinator who informed me that she had to make some minor changes to our Home Study based on new rules and regulations. I now have to have our social worker draw up these changes. Not sure until I contact him if we have to pay for this. Either way I don't care.

I am on cloud nine for the rest of the day!!!
