Out Of Town Visitors

This week I have had the greatest pleasure of having two dear friends come out to The Prairies from England. They'll be leaving Friday, so I haven't had a lot of time to spend here, and probably won't till the weekend.

The weird thing is that out here in the 'bread basket of Canada' we started the Spring Thaw, and our province was all set up with flood warnings and measures are being taken to alleviate this problem as best as we can. And just when everyone's nerves were ready to snap (no one can predict just how bad this flooding will be, or if it will be bad at all; it is the NOT KNOWing that gets to ya) -- we got a swoop of almost blizzard-like conditions, and have all the snow right back where it was to start out with. Personally, I love the snow (old news), but when this stuff melts (which it should in the very near future), dear me, what a mess we are going to have.

What did the above have to do with my guests from overseas? Well, it is sure difficult to take them around and show them the sights when I can barely get my car out of the driveway and blinding driving conditions (gusting winds with blowing snow snow and more snow). But anyhow, they feel like they are in an adventure.

When you are outside, it is as though someone has you inside a snowglobe and has shaken it up -- you know those glass balls filled with water and flakey things that you shake and it makes a winter-ish effect? LoL. Thats how it goes here.

And I LOVE IT!

See you later,
K♥zzo

I hope you and the visitors all have a lovely time together! My grandparents also just had some visitors from England! All the snow sounds lovely . The snow-globe from Canberra that I have on my desk is as close as I'll get to snow for a while! Anywho I hope the flooding isn't too bad - it's still hot here in WA! It's meant to be about 35 degrees celsius tomorrow, so that'll be interesting what with the ball and all

I thought the title referred to some horror movie, 'out of town visitors', creepy.

April weather (april showers here!) is always awful.

In the mean time - there are lots of activities you can do inside.

Hopefully you won't be affected by the flooding. Enjoy what time you have left with your friends before they leave.

Goodness, I bet people from England have never seen weather like that before. Hopefully winter will be over soon. It's been flipping back and forth between spring and winter the last week here. But no snow.

Oh, I wish I had the chance to be in a snow-globe winter-wonderland like that! I've lived in the south so much of my life that being snowed-in with a cup of hot chocolate and tomato soup sounds like a dream (although, I know it's probably not in reality).

Have fun with your guests! Hope they have a good time, and have a wonderful adventure!
