Red-Headed

& I have been troubled by strange dreams lately:
Odd dreams, crazy dreams, weird & wonderful dreams,
Dreams of terror, dreams of hope, dreams of danger...
Dreams of love.

Dreams of tilting at windmills.

Chimerical unsubstantial fancies
Ennobled by my imagination
Fervently strive in midnight antics
With preternatural situation.



But where do we sojourn when we anaesthetise our mortal selves?
Our be-numbed mortal selves, our odd selves, crazy selves, weird & wonderful selves,
Selves of terror, selves of hope, selves in danger,
Selves in love.

Selves who tilt at windmills.

Fabulous fictitious whimsies
Pipe-dreams of our souls
Torture us on the fringes
Of the reality of our goals.
