I love my puppy

Black and white in my eyes
Licking tongue and a wet nose
Never failing to shake my hand
Or bring me a bird
To cheer me up
And never failing
To pee all over the carpet
When you get too excited
You lick away my salty tears
When life has me down
And it all seems too much
A cold nose wakes me
Early in the morning
Stubby tail waging
In anticipation of the day to come
We forget about the world
Chasing squirrels and tennis balls
Till the light is gone from the horizon
I never knew
I could love a boy this much
