Roadside cafe on Friday

Rate this Entry
I sit here eating
the smell of your soup:aroma
of coriander, lentils, chickpeas
and tomato
coupled with the grainy breath of just-cooked bread.
Besides, an open door to gentle rain
caresses cars, poised
to gather the dust of the highway.
The cafe is stimulated,
the small and powerful madnesses
of quips in conversation
sparking with coffee and chocolate.

Goodness that captures the moment beautifully. Very nice.

Thanks Virgil. I tried to pen down my impressions of that cafe on that drizzly day.

I wrote something the other day in a laundromat that is akin to this: actually, upon reading it immediately afterward, I was reminded of your style. Thank you for that little bit of inspiration.

I think you have done a very good job of it, Silas.
