Poetry of Convention

Rate this Entry
I have an indirect style of writing. For that reason, one subject that I like to approach is politics, or societal opinion. Here are two different poems.

Subtleties

Warring with a premise
Persisting round expired frenet-

Icism. Exaggerating recompense
For over falsifying a tenet.

Easily glossing a composition
In its vital points.

So goes the art of politics
And the congress it anoints.

Likened to a pack of wolves
This deck is not far-fetched

Or a flock of hungry kites
Borne wayward and outstretched

Keen to win their quarry
In whatever bout arises

Resistant torts succumb
To lists of neutered compromises.

Likewise,
The tendered assault demises.

Progressions

Crystal clear is daylight brimming sober,
Substantial case locked in a quandary,
Kept frozen as seconds presaging the moment.
Let the glaze on the moonbeams glisten and foment
And the shadows reconstruct the boundary
Ere random trussed reflective shapes shimmy improper.

Life is a view in a radial leaning, sheltered
As a flick of dust expanding an evening sweltered.

Ignore for argument’s sake impacting hue
And raise for issue’s cause the lure of sorts,
A figure grown in ambivalent stretch of chronicles,
Reconciling aspect in cubes and conicals,
Overwhelming controversy with retorts
And coating resistance with a gushing, blushing dew..
