a wonderful find

Yesterday at the library I made a wonderful find. It's a book called Daoist Body Cultivation. I read the introduction, which was a really great one, and the first chapter. I feel like I learned so much. From the Intro and the First Chapter, as much emphasis seems to be placed on the spiritual aspect of bodily health as well as the bodily aspect. The idea or thrust of the book is to cultivate harmonious qi in the body, which leads to the refinement of the body's energies, as a part of the spiritual or religious aspect of ourself. I learned a lot about qi and things like that. I'm not studying to become a Daoist, but to learn it and incorporate it into my own knowledge.

I very much enjoy your perspective. It inspires me, because you seem to incorporate a lot of different philosophies into your life.

    Thank you Becca! :D

It has helped me to study so many different traditions. It's been rewarding and instead of being confusing, actually I see things become clearer. I believe in divinity in every humans - every animal as well - heart. The best thing we can do is to reawaken this, as it leads to freedom from suffering, as well as wisdom.

The reason I chant mantras is to remove obstacles, physical and mental, from my life, so that I can live a good life, experiencing good results from good actions. The second reason is for protection against negativity. Accumulation of good and protection and prevention of bad are inherent in most religions, although they are more systematic in Buddhism and Hinduism. Reading this book on Daoist Body, I see it as well. Chinese medicine seeks to heal us by correcting the causes of sickness - spirit or wayward qi.
