BLAH!!

Did anyone receive an Email that read:

Dear Friends,

Please do not take this for a junk letter. Bill Gates is sharing his fortune. If you ignore this you will repent later. Microsoft and AOL are now the largest Internet companies and in an effort to make sure that Internet Explorer remains the most widely used program, Microsoft and AOL are running an e-mail beta test..

When you forward this e-mail to friends, Microsoft can and will track it (if you are a Microsoft Windows user) for a two week time period.

For every person that you forward this e-mail to, Microsoft will pay you $245.00, for every person that you sent it to that forwards it on, Microsoft will pay you $243.00 and for every third person that receives it, you will be paid $241.00. Within two week! s, Microsoft will contact you for your address and then send you a cheque.

It had a sign-off signature that I have left out because I don't want anyone here to believe that I am promoting this. I am merely querying if anyone else got this.

I am wondering if everyone who goes along with forwarding it receives (instead of a cheque) a serious computer virus...

Ya never know.

And I wish to heck that I would not be forwarded such stuff (as my mail address will be travelling around the world, no doubt, as others continue forwarding it). Damn I hate that.

Sweetie, this is a scam. It isn't any different than any other chain letter. Never, never, never forward these things. don't open any attachments to them. Delete them quickly and then delete them out of your recycle bin. But breaking the chain won't harm you. You're more likely to be hit by a giant rock slung from a catapult by African pygmies.

I've never recvd an email like above but I have heard of these things. While they can be tempting I have never followed thru.

Jack M----- didn't send on this message and then his computer had a wild power surge that melted his brain after using the first edition of Microsoft Neurojack 2009, though his friends did tell him that the hardware was still at beta stage and there was a likelihood of a serious brainmelt.

I never did and I NEVER respond or open any e-mail (which I rarely get) of any file that I did NOT solicit or have a name that I recognize beyond a shadow of a doubt. Of course if the name Logos was somewhere in the message then I might be tempted. Basically I delete everything as soon as it shows.

Nope, though as a hard-core Conservative I wouldn't want Bill Gates' money .
Seriously, I learned my lesson after some spammer here on the LitNet tried to wire me money from Nigeria, claiming her dad was a deposed tribal chieftain .

I only have one person that sends me that junk and I think less of her for believing it. Isn’t that crappy of me?
