Exiled in a kilt

Ok, onto first year of Secondary school. Everyone takes the same subjects this year to get a grounding and see what they are about.


Art:

Andrew's drawings skills are below average & he tends to produce work of a poor quality

Well that should dispell any ideas of me being artistic.

English:

Andrew has a tendency to daydream, and needs to work on his spelling and punctuation. He also must improve his handwriting.

Have I mentioned I failed english the first time I took it?

French:

Andrew is making first class progress in all aspects of French

Well its better than I was doing in English, incidently despite making first class progress all I can do in French is tell somebody to go and fornicate with a chicken - which is an expression I have actually used in a discussion with the only french person I have ever met

Maths:

Andrew has done well in both SMP & Algebra, but must improve his presentation of work - can be untidy

Yet again with the untidiness, also this teacher had the worst BO problem in the world.


Religious Education:

Andrew is a quiet & conscientious worker, he does not perform well in groupwork

Yep does not work well with others, it seems others have a problem losing.

Technical Education:

Produced good work in metal & woodwork classes, with extra effort Graphic communication could improve

The graphic communication has improved greatly, I can now draft freehand to a reasonably high standard.

Music:

Has rythmic difficulties and fingering problems

Not to mention the fact I am virtually tone deaf

Science:

Very enthusiastic about the subject, Tends to take the role of leader in group work

How could I not be enthuastic - the first class he blew the lid of a tin of paint using custard powder, I was hooked.

Home Economics:

Understands the theory, but has difficulty in both cooking & sewing

And not improved in either since.

Classical Studies:

Shows an interest and understanding of the subject, but needs to ensure his written work is presented as carefully and neatly as possible

Damn presentation nonsense

Phys Ed:

Andrew enjoys all his P.E activities and recently swam one breadth of the pool. A great achievement well done.

I think his use of the word "swam" is somewhat misleading I do a modified doggy paddle and can not actually swim in the sense that most of the world is familiar with it. There is a post in the embarrassing moment thread which outlines my swimming issues. I stay out of the water.

The teachers for the other subjects did not leave comments - managed to fly under the radar.
