Lady in Red

Lady in Red

She is fallen
from the grace they imposed upon her
She is lost
of the innocence that never belonged to her

Her passion burned too brightly
and her love was like a fire
when it was hot, it all-consumed
but when it cooled, it left forever

So they condemned her
she lived too much in the sun
while worshiping the moon.

She is fallen
from the grace they imposed upon her
She is lost
of the innocence that never belonged to her

A Rio dancing upon the sand
with quick flashing eyes and
a ready smile, she lived to be happy

For them that was never enough
for she did not properly suffer
did not understand the guilt
they would have tried to place
inside of her

She is fallen
from the grace they imposed upon her
She is lost
of the innocence that never belonged to her

In her world there was no sin
she was free to dance naked
beneath the stars

But she enjoyed too much
her feminine touch and her body
moved without humility as she danced
to music unholy, and never knew the
word of shame.

She is fallen
from the grace they imposed upon her
She is lost
of the innocence that never belonged to her

Her soul sung of the night
but never had she sought to harm
she lived for love upon sun-warmed sands

She never learned to beg forgives
for she was free in the eyes of the Earth
the sky and the ocean never condemn

She is fallen
She is lost
