There is sweet perfection in her kiss,
and in her smile is every grace and art.
Every turn of philosophy leads to this,
mutual in our love, we share one heart.
There is not one word I would rather know
than the one sweet sound of my lover's name.
While this heart beats sometimes fast or slow,
it only beats for this eternal flame.
In my poor heart my lover reigns supreme,
whose tenderness has grafted onto me
A single will, fixed on a single theme,
A love, a flame, a heart, for eternity.
