Semi-Vaccation and High school Flashbacks

Yay, no school for me again until next Wednesday, because I don't have class on Friday, and I don't have class on Tuesday, and Monday is a holiday.

Of course I will be spending all of my time "off" doing stuff for school. I have to work on my paper for my Milton class, and have to start getting stuff together for a project in my history class, plus have my usual reading for school to do. But it will be nice to have the extra time to do those things. Two classes a day on Monday and Wednesday does cut into the time I have to get stuff done.

There are some really immature people in my Child Lit. Class (ironic, isn't it?) from which I just got home from. Two in particular were being quite irritating today, and annoyed 3 or 4 of the other students. They sit just behind him.

So today we were talking about the Wizard of Oz and Baum, and the teacher was talking about Baum's ideas relating to theosophy. For me, it really was not that strange, or unusual for me. I have been predisposed to some of the theories so to speak. But there were these two, that just could not deal with it, and could not get over it. They kept going on and on back and forth about it, I could not hear everything they were saying but just caught snatches of their conversation but they were totally freaked out.

So finally one of the students that sat just behind them said out loud. "I believe this young lady has a question to ask" and she just started laughing and another girl turned around and said. "You might as well just ask, since you keep bringing it up"

Then later the teacher wanted to show some scenes from the Return to Oz movie, and when she first turned it on, before she put the tape in, CNN came one (because for some reason, that is just the channel all the classrooms are programmed to, because whenever any teacher wants to watch a video that is what is on) so anyway it was talking about that plane crash story, but the plane that crashed landed in the Hudson. So then that was all those same two girls could talk about. They kept going back and forth about it and had to be told to be quiet like three times.

oh my, what is it with people?
this one time in my grammar class, an Indian girl was giving a presentation. It was clear from her looks and the name on her handout that she was really of Indian descent. She was wearing Indian clothes, too. So this girl behind me said in a really loud voice "I bet she likes Bollywood.", meaning that the girl must be a German girl who followed the Bollywood craze and dressed up in tacky 'Indian' clothes because seh's a fan. aaaaargh!

That gave me a good laugh.
