Part 1

Ok, I mentioned I was going to do this a while ago. Then as usual I forgot/didnt get round to it.
A couple of months ago I found copies of my school reports from age 5 - 14. I am going to put the comments here. It may well provide some insight for anyone interested in who kilted actually is.
In Scotland we have primary school and secondary school. The first 7 years are spent at primary school, then you go to secondary. Because of the way my birthday is I started school at 4 y.o. This part will deal with P1-P7 (after reading this part you will probably wonder how I became the grumpy curmudgeon that I did)
P1:Awww, how sweet"Andrew's speech has improved greatlyAndrew's co-ordination is improving. He always works hard & has made good progress. A very pleasant, helpful member of class"![]()

The co-ordination is still pretty bad - all due to the huge amounts of phenyl barbitone I had to take as a toddler to ward off the problems which resulted in my poor speech.
P2:So much I could say about P2 - not to mention a off-colour joke about participation in oral activities"Well behaved and listens with interest. Participates willingly during oral activities. Has a very good general knowledge. Oral reading is fluent but rather quiet. Comprehension is very good. Andrew is a capable, co-operative pupil whose general effort has greatly increased, resulting in very pleasing progress. He is a happy, friendly boy with a good sense of humour. Special interests: Environmental knowledge and construction toys."The special interests thing is somewhat prophetic seeing as I became an environmental technologist. Also I fell in love for the first time in P2 (a future entry will deal with this)
P3:This was a supply teacher (real teacher was off almost the entire year) Incidently the presentation could still be neater, but I care not. - this will be a common theme of all reports"Andrew is a sensitive, hard working pupil, who picks up new ideas quickly. Although his presentation could be neater. Andrew's general progress has been satisfactory."
P4:I hated this teacher, she spent more time fixing her make-up and hair than actually teaching (also she hated taking us for gym, so found any excuse to cancel it)Work is usually correct but Andrew's writing is often difficult to read. Andrew has worked well throughout the year. He is a friendly child always eager to please. Behaviour is good though at times can be talkative.
P5:Hay, at least I got rid of the talkative partAndrew is a quiet, sensitive boy. His general knowledge is very good. He has made satisfactory progress this year, but must try harder to stop daydreaming and concentrate more on his work.![]()
P6:Quieter still, see previous entry on discovering evil to link up the serious outlook on life.Andrew is a very quiet little boy who seems to take life very seriously. Recently however he seems to have gained confidence and has made progress in all spheres of school work. Must make more of an effort to present work neatly!
P7:Exclamation marks are hers - she had a habit of using them in virtually every sentence. Notice she refers to me as "Andy", this is because one lunchtime I punched this other kid in the face then chased after him with about 15 of the people in my class trying to pull me back. All the teachers I think were concerned about me and worried about how quiet I had become, they attempted to remedy it by attempting to be more friendly and taking an interest in me.Writing needs improvement, however Andy has gained in confidence as the year has progressed and subsequently his work has shown a marked improvement too! He is very much "his own man" and thrives on working on his own!
