We trully take a lot for granted. Forget the football 'heroes' and movie 'stars'. Pass on so that all may know the price of freedom.

Only two definable forces have ever offered to die for you,
Jesus Christ and the American soldier

One died for your soul;
The other for your freedom.

    As a veteran my reaction to recognitin of veterans is varied but it's nice when it occurs. I came in towards the end of one conflict (Vietnam) and retired around Desert Storm though i never saw action however my son's have in Iraq especially Dan. A million words are probably not enough. Thank you.

    Yes, the picture is truly worth a million words. But to add to your list of those willing to die for me, my dad risked his life for me (and everything turned out all right in the end). And I firmly believe that my husband would be in this list, too, he is a very fine man.

    andya, yeah, my mom was crying when she looked it.
    kiz, i have no doubt that they would or have, but i think this list is for the people that you don't really know. well, if your a christian, then you know jesus, but before that, you didn't know him and yet he died for you.
    mtspur, a million words probably isn't enough.
