It Was In The Stars ...

You guessed it. The Prairies got their first official snowfall that began as freezing rain and then soft snowflakes filled the night skies .... until we had enough snow to cripple the city. ['cripple the city' is an understatement -- it seems like everyone is taken off guard, and this is SO amusing. C'mon people, it is NOVEMBER. You KNOW the story! lol]

On his way to work, my husband caught the sight of a few city buses that had landed sideways in the ditch, and the police car sirens have been going on and off all day now.

I went for a morning jaunt, lovin' it, what can I say? **twirls around**

So yeah, thats wassup around my parts. Pepper is completely happy and has commenced eating the snow so I won't have to shovel .....

...not! But she does like snow!

You know, it never really gets pitch black dark out at night once the snow comes. I love that! When we turn out all the lights for the night, I love to go to the window and stand there and reflect for a bit. Very therapeutic (spell)!

Till Next Time,

K♥zzo

Yes, it IS November! I am always dumbfounded when people are thrown off-guard by the first big snowfall! I can still remember my one birthday. My brother and I went to the movies that night. We saw a double feature of "The Nightmare Before Christmas" and "The Remains of the Day" (what a combination, huh? ). It was OK when went to the theater. But when we were leaving for home, it was SO BAD that he had to push out a car that was stuck in front of us! So, yes, people, it does happen as early as this!!

We had some flakes last week and we might be getting a little more tomorrow. We won't be getting anything like you guys have but I guess there will be some accumulation. Only on the grass, though. The streets/sidewalks are still too warm. Which is actually a very good thing! After all, the leaves haven't completely fallen off the trees and what is down hasn't been completely raked yet. First things first for me right now.

Those are really pretty pictures, though. I do love the look of snow covering everything. I just wish it wasn't such a headache for me regarding the lack of plowing that goes on here! But it is a very pretty site! I love how white everything is with a fresh snowfall! I also love how everything is so bright at night because of the snow! So, I now know that I am not the only one who likes that!

For some reason I always like the first snowfall of the season. I could just imagine how much Pepper is enjoying the snow. My dog just loves it!!!

Oh God. We haven't even gotten our first frost yet. I could never live in Canada. You guys up North are hardy.

Sounds wonderful! It's getting cold here, too, we should have snow before too much longer.

I am so jealous. I almost forgot what snow was. I want to live somewhere with snow. My state has stupid lame annoying weather.

I don't. I know it will be cming here soon. I'd rather miss the entire mess. It's pretty for a little bit but a royal pain in the long run.

The pics are very beautiful, Kizzoo. It should snow where I am too, but please wait, because I have not bought any boots yet. I have the snowboard jacket though, bought it yesterday.

Oh wow those photos are pretty! I've never seen real snow . Every now and then Perth gets a fake snow thing that you can play with, it's just like a giant slide of fake snow. Also it's weird to think it's snowing in places when here (well today at least) it's finally becoming summer!! (although it has been storming the past few days!)

The Grinch would like very much to dispense with snow as it makes my job miserable. But it is pretty to look at. Nice pics.

Well, I found out tonight that we are definitely getting snow tomorrow. There will be snow where I am planning on driving to tomorrow. So I hope, with the roads being slick, people don't lose their minds. I looked out the window before. Nothing yet but it is well on its way as it is really coming down in a town near here.

But thanks for the pictures Kiz--- now when do the northern lights happen?

Oh Kizzo, I'm so jealous. What wonderful pictures. I want to move to Canada; I miss snow so much. We moved further north in the hope of snow but unless we move to the Lakes (...now there's an idea!) there's no chance of it. Sigh.

Good to see you around Kiz, hope you're keeping well. And thanks for such an upbeat entry

I don't know the formula for when the Northern Lights 'go off', Nightie. I think it is just something as random as how strange clouds can appear, you know? Just when they do, sorta kinda. Hope you don't think I am being a smart-aleck with this response, I just really can't say when the skies will be filled with this awesome treat. All I can say is that every night I make a point of gazing up (I take my doggy, Pepper, out for bathroom breaks a few times in the evening, so the perfect time to check out the skies).

I have noticed, though, that the colder it is, the more readily these lights start their beautiful display.

    I laughed at Virgil's reply

T'is never a pain to me. I love this stuff! If I could live in an igloo, I would. Yes, I would!

I hadn't seen this entry before I posted in your album -- I'm going on and on about every little branch, twigg and stick being covered with a uniform blanket of snow.
You're right though, it can be so quiet and beautiful.
... I need to blog on this...
