One Foot Back in Blogland

Having frittered the previous day away doing nothing on the computer except try to strenghen personal ties with new found friends I managed to break away and get some housework done before the Long Suffering Spouse came home to receive the evidence of her own eyes of her lazy light of her life's indolence disproved.
Now it's time to blog in earnest having departed the cave I've been hiding in the past few weeks licking wounds real and imagined.
Note to Virgil--You are absolutely correct in still dancing to my mother's tune. She would be pleased but deny responsibility for it. She is the only lady I know who could have her cake and devour it and return it for a refund. Reminds me of the time when I retired and still kept expecting the Air Force to miss me. Sad delusional dreams of being indispensable.
AAA has suspended the Christmas bonus this year citing the economy. Just as well as Christmas will be almost a non-event in the family. Bills are back at their pre-inheritance levels but at least Ruth has a dependable car and I'm finally getting her to listen to me about credit card use. One long standing bill finally goes away next month forever so a flicker of light at the end of the tunnel is visible.
Both boys will be around for the holidays. This year went fast. Will get to see my second grand-daughter for the first time and first one for the second time.
The Devil Child is pregnant with Number 3. The bets favor not dear old Frank in Alaska (who got sent to Iraq upon arrival in Alaska for a year but a trucker she was cross countrying with while waiting for Frank to find her quarters in Alaska since she can't get married yet until second husband Harry and she finalize the divorce. The timing is 50-50. Gina is not big on faithfulness. My son Jim says his satisfaction is being happy with Loretta. My stand on not helping Shelia gets tested every now and again but still have not given in. Ruth babysat him one aftrenoon when I actually had other plans so guess who sulked all afternoon? Funny part was when I finally came out of the bedroom with a long postponed bathroom need my little grand guttersnipe looks up from his coloring book and says "Now don't give me attitude."
Told him I had plenty to spare and did my business and did NOT repent. Which I regretted after he left. I have no right to deprive him of my company just because I don't like where he's living. Decided to show him a marvelous time the next visit--whenever that is. We plan on getting the grandkids Christmas but that's about all the paychecks can handle. Someday the poor kid will realize he's been a hostage for child support from his own grand-mother. Love ought never to have a price tag attached but that's in the Brady Bunch Universe.
Our 28th anniversary was also a non-event. I had to work (which Ruth forgot) and I had bought a present for her that was negated two days later when I needed gas money from her. Again next year ought to be better. I need to start in August for November not three days prior. What she and I really really need is quality time together which we just aren't having right now. I'm finding even a resturant dinner not providing the thrill it used to.
But the future remains bright.
Haven't got my list handy but Avengers is at 327 out of 503 not counting annuals and mini-series etc. But the better news is I finally hit 100 issues of Mighty Mouse in comics named after himself. I've calculated he had 186 issues with his name in the logo such as Mighty Mouse, Adventures of Mighty Mouse, Mighty Mouse Album and so on. This does not include titles such as Terrytoons and Paul Terry's Comics for instance (of which I have a few). Been collecting him almost as long as Felix the Cat. So I do have some things to keep me mellow. Sandy gets these AFTER I'm gone. I saw what happened to Chip and Dale Rescue Ranger comics and it wasn't pretty.
