Things i'd like to do if i met certain Litnetters!

Rating: 4 votes, 5.00 average.
So i was musing and thinking if i got to meet certain litnetters, what was it i'd want to do with them? so silly little list, but here it is!

Nightshade: Well there is a few things i would do with Nightie. Walk Hadrians wall for starters, and the other thing is visit all the national libraries in Europe with her. We have already threatened to write to the bbc about this one! Oh and how could i forget watching lots of North and South while drooling over Richard Armitage

Papayahed: Drink yummy cocktails with her, while sitting outside a bar in New Orleans.

Lady Wentworth: Ghosthunting and watching lots of Most Haunted What else! Oh well maybe drink a shamrock shake. and Talking about books.

Sprinks: Sock shopping. Well maybe sock shopping in Paddys market in Sydney. Oh and maybe singing really bad kareoke.

Kiz Paws: Collecting Shells along the lake side and making pretty things from them. (still cant believe i missed you in the airport that time! )

Maddie: well when i eventually get to India and say hello to her, it would have to be browsing through markets looking at bangles, getting hena done and eating food.

MH: Chasing chickens into coops and planting trees.

Lily Adams: go crazy with paint, and glue, and other stuff and make some insane art!

Petrarchs Love: I love to sit in a cafe full of books, and drink tea and spend all day just yapping.

Janine: Looking through art galleries and watching classic movies.

Virg (and the missus of course!): I'd want to see the new york of your youth. None of this touristy Empire state building malarky. Favourite Pizzarias, and parks and walks things like that. (and maybe wreak Virgils head with talk of "keeping it green" )

Scher: she always seems to be cooking nice food, so i'll love to cook with her.

Aimus Sage: well, just to have a laugh with the turnip king and maybe drink a beer with him or something. Oh and watching Top Gear! Of course, i'd drag Nightie with me if i went to the Netherlands. (we'd be visiting Libraries remember )

Sleepy: eating ginger bread, and i'd make her go to octoberfest with me...whether she wanted to or not! but i'd give her loads of pretty postcards to make up for it!

Claes: go take lots of pretty pictures of absoloutely anything (except snakes)

so yeah...just a few things i'd like to do with some litnetters. plenty of others too i'd love to hang out with...but thats for another time.

What a wonderful thought for a blog. I will have to keep this in mind and write one up as well in the future.

I've been meaning to take some pictures of the neighborhood I grew up in. I will, I promise. If you ever see the movie Saturday Night Fever with John Travolta, that's my neighborhood that I grew up in. Oh you would love the pizza in Brooklyn. Just let me know if you ever decide to come over. We do have the best St. Patrick's Day parade in the world. It's been said we have more Irish in the New York area than in Ireland.

I'm all for it! You know that!! I was seriously thinking about those Shamrock Shakes the other day! I can't wait until March!

If you go to NYC for the best St. Patrick's Day parade, then you HAVE to come to Milwaukee for what is the best Irish festival!! That is in the summer, by the way. I was hoping, at the time, that Larry could've been here around then. I thought that maybe he would've liked it.

Oh oh oh that would be SO COOL! I loved those markets! I had to borrow money off a friend to get socks there . And the kareoke sounds AWESOME!! This is such a sweet idea for a blog entry! I think I'll be smiling all day now, just thinking about our potential sock-shopping-and-kareoke adventure!

I'm not going to Octoberfest and neither are you *joking*
maybe I'll make an exception for you
did you know that there are Oktoberfest-style fairs in every town and little village in my region throughout the summer? originally these festivals were the anniversary of the foundation of a local church. They are called Kirchweih or Kirmess in German ('consecration of the church building') most of them are modern with lots of rides like Oktoberfest ,but some are more traditional or a combination of both. the traditional ones involve a dance around a pole (like a Maypole). It's a competition and the winner wins a sheep and then has to treat the whole bunch to lots of beer and a meal. There's also a parade on Sundays.
Another tradition is for people from neighbouring villages to try and steal the pole. So the Kirchweih boys (guys in traditional costumes) have to watch it at night. [/ramble]

I just looked it up and the festival is August 13 - 16 next year. I don't know why, but I thought it was in July always. I guess not. Unless they changed the dates this year. Well, July/August. Not too much of a difference. We have a bunch of different festivals in the summer, and this is one of the most popular ones.
