Halls of the Dark Muse

This was written for a Picture Poetry contest on another forum. Though I made it to the next round, I got by by the skin of my teeth. Though personally I really like this one, and think the judges do not know what they are talking about

Virgin Flowers

Open to the sunlight
bursting with color
ready to receive
the sweet ecstasy
of a golden touch

Awakened in innocent glory,
a shimmering beauty
flushed with early morning,
flashing sweet attraction
to draw the eye of admiration

Displayed as an offering,
homage to the purity of nature,
succulently unfurled for the
sweet seed of pollen to be
spread

Without a quiver
but in full confidence
the gentle tenderness
of virgin flowers.
