Christmas Lists

Rate this Entry
Today the kiddies and I posted the Christmas lists to Father Christmas. You may be glad to hear that Father Christmas has updated to the 21st Century and you can now send him e-mail via www.northpole.com. In fact there's lots of fun stuff to do there, including the 'Santa Tracker' on Dec 24th which you can use to track Santa's progress around the world, and make sure the little ones are in bed in time.

So this year the lists look like so:

Son: Age 8
Nice
has chimney

PS3 & games
Combat of Giants (DS Game)
Lego Star Wars B Wing Fighter
Lego Star Wars Slave 1
Laser Challenge Pro
Pokemon Trading Cards (Battlezone)

I have to confess, I don't know what 1/2 those things are. What I do know is that 4 of those 6 items are over £50 which means my son is likely to be disappointed this year. Sigh.

Daughter
Age 5
Nice (mostly!)
what's a chimney?

MP3 player
Dinosaur King (DS game)
Animal Hospital

My daughter is not likely to be disappointed!

So, I didn't make a list to send to Father Christmas this year but if I was going to make a list it'd look like this:

Mum
Age: huh!
Tries to be nice
Looks like a chimney!

Move house (we've been up for sale for 2 years now. It's a bad time to sell)
Finish writing my novel
For everyone to be happy at Christmas and beyond (last year we all had 'flu over Christmas. I was bedridden all Christmas Eve and 1/2 of Christmas Day, husband was bedridden 1/2 Christmas Day and Boxing Day, Mum was bedridden by Dec 27th. Fortunately the daughter didn't get sick, and my son only got a little sick on Christmas Day. Flu is awful.)
A peaceful year

The last two are dreams, but sometimes dreams come true, right?

So Lit-netters: what would you put on your Christmas list?

We all want a peaceful year, Fifth. Other than an mp3 player I have no idea what those gifts are. I usually don't want anything for Christmas, other than a gift card at a book store. I do need a winter jacket though, and my wife said she will get me one. I also have the disadvantage of having a birthday just over a week prior to Christmas.

Oh, one other thing. I do hope to finish, not one, but two short stories in December. I usually save some of my vacation time to take the week between Christmas and New Years off, and will be doing so this year as well.

Well your list sounds perfect Virgil. I also have a birthday very close to Christmas (20th) so I completely understand the devastation of 'joint presents'! Now I'm not too bothered about Christmas except for making sure the kids have a nice time and we have a nice time as a family. I hoping for book tokens for my birthday though

Great blog, Fifth. I just want to finish the living room. Well, that and the dining room and kitchen. I hope I'm not disappointed. This year my three year old has asked for a box. He asked with an evil grin. He wants to stuff the cat in the box. He’s always trying to stuff the cat in a box and I’m always afraid I’m going to find a dead cat in some box somewhere. The other day I found him in my desk drawer.

    I have only one wish:

    An extra hour everyday!

an extra hour of what? I'd be afraid to ask for an extra hour my luck i'd have to spend it doing come kind of crappy work! Now an extra hour to spend all to myself would be nice

Just an extra hour will do for me... I don't even have enough time to do even the "crappy" stuff!

 Sher, I need an extra three hours:) I guess the only thing on my list is that my kids have a wonderful holiday. Money is tight this year, and while I know that isn't the most important thing, I would like to get a nice tree and be able to provide them with a good day.

I know what most of those things are, simply because it's similar to what my brother's used to be! (and still is in some ways! ) Last year my friend sent me a letter from "Santa"... it was cute and funny and I had no idea who it was from at first .
This year... Well I just want to spend a nice day with friends and family. And go for a swim and have a barbeque .

There's nothing in particular that I want for christmas although a new TV wouldn't be bad. (my tv has squiggly lines across the top )
