I will build a fire tonight

I just finished the hardest week of the semester. I’m so glad it’s behind me. I’m able to clean house today instead of sit in front of the computer and ignore the needs of my children. Very nice!
You may know that we moved into this little 100 year old farm house a few years ago and we’ve been adding on and remodeling- we‘re doing all the work ourselves. A couple of months ago we moved into the new bedrooms. We are now about to finish the drywall in the living room. We’ve been using what will be the dining room as a living room. My desk is in here. It’s a large dining room, but not a large living room. Today we’ll be moving my desk into the office which and putting the wood stove back where the desk was. We are building a brick platform for the stove to sit on. I’ll have a fire tonight. Doesn’t that sound fancy? I’m so excited. We had two bedrooms between the six of us for so long and now I have an office. It’s been so much hard work and it’s been so slow at times. I see a light at the end of the tunnel. We’ll be in the living room for Christmas. That will just leave two baths and my closet.
Once we are in the living room I’m going to scrape the ceiling in here and paint and put down new floors and move the light fixture. Then I’m going to repaint my kitchen and build another countertop. I think I’ll have all of that, except maybe the countertop, done by the time next semester begins.
My camera died or I would post pictures of the house and the dog.
