15,000 and Three Years

Wow, today is my three year anniversary on lit net and wouldn't you know it I also hit 15,000 posts today. Hard to believe It's only been three years. I guess when you reflect on life it doesn't go as fast as it sometimes seems. But still life goes way too fast. I hope I've only hit half way. If so then I still have another 46 years to be on lit net.Lord knows what some you guys will look like in 46 years.
And if I'm this crabby and crotchety now, can you imagine in 46 years?
So it's easy to figure out, I average 5000 posts per year. I think I've slowed down. I used to play games here and write up haiku poems. In fact at one point I averaged 24 posts per day. I'm now averaging 14 or just under. It doesn't mean I don't enjoy it or that I'm on less. I just don't do the quick posts as much. Plus now with blogs and profile pages and social groups, who has time for literature?
What makes lit net special to me are the people and the rules here that prevent things from getting out of hand. Yes we have a vast range of opinions and no shortage of opinionated people. But the rules in place curtail excessive conflict and the mods are always on top of things. I've belonged to what is essentially unmoderated forums and things always degenerate and lead to bad experiences. That's why I'm not a libertarian; rules and enforcement of rules set boundaries. Human beings need boundaries to coexist. I tip my hat to all you great moderators.
Sorry if I've been a handful myself at times.
And here's to all the great members here. I don't want to mention any by name because I can't name them all. But I'm blessed with a huge friendship list and I'm flattered that I possibly have the most stops at my profile page. Thank you all.
And finally I enjoy reading the poetry and the stories and the literary discussions. I wish I could write more myself, but time is limited I'm afraid.
Thanks all for a great three years and I hope to see you for another 46.![]()
