Rain, Wind, Cold and No Phone

Rate this Entry
It has been raining where I live since last night. To top if off it has been very windy and below 40 degrees. What really pisses me off right now is not the nasty weather but my land line phone is not working. It hasn't been working all day. If you call my number all you get is a busy signal. It drove my husband crazy all day. I mean I can talk on the phone but not for a whole day!!
So I ended up calling the phone company. I HATE those automated phone systems. If you need this kind of help, press 1, if you need another kind of help, press 2 and so on. I must have been on my cell phone for about 15 minutes pressing this number, then another, so on and so on. Not once did I get a live person to talk to. Turns out there is a problem with the phone company not my phone. I am hoping that by tomorrow afternoon I can use my regular phone. If not I will call the phone company back and try to get a live person to talk to. I'm also going to tell them I do not want to be charged for the time I could not use my phone. It's their fault not mine.
Thank god for cell phones.

Have to love the cell phone. I hope things will get better there soon. Things here have been chilly and dreary too. Winter is making it's coming known I think:sick: I love fall, but I hate winter. I just can't stand being cold all the time.

Well, if it makes you feel better (and it won't so I don't know why I'm writing this) my cell phone is on permanent mute. I don't know what's wrong with it. and my roses are blooming beautifully and we're going to have a hard freeze tonight and they're going to die!!

It's cold here, too. It feels more like winter that autumn. Why is fall so short?

Definitely cold up here too. Got rid of the land line years ago. No sense to pay for a phone which telemarketers were using to wake a second shift worker up all the time for. Plan on never having oone again. It took awhile but a plain simple cell phone is the tool of choice here.

still no phone as of this morning. called phone company back and spoke to a live person. seems there's a cable failure on their end and shld be fixed between today and no later than this Friday. I will not be charged for the days I did not have service

Glad that you won't be charged for unused time. I really hate getting automated things, too, when I want to speak to a human ... Oh well, we can't change that, more and more of it going on nowadays.

I guess the bright side of it was that you got no solicitation for the last few days. I tell ya, I get SO much of it, that I pull out my hair!

Very warm (95F) in Arizona. Sometimes business trips are very fortuitive.
