or "five truths," means the Lord in five features. The Lord incarnated in this world about five hundred years ago, simply to experience the mellow of being a pure devotee. He also lived as a devotee to set the correct example, to show how to live. Lord Jesus Christ said, the most important commandment was to love God completely; this is how Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu lived; always in transcendental bliss and ecstasy, always experiencing love for Krishna. Yet He also appeared in with four associaties, who are actually His different features.

This is an article which describes the different features of Sri Pancha Tattva.

Perhaps I should back up a bit first, simply to say that Caitanya was a great Vaishnava, who re-established respect for Vaishnava sanyaasis, at a time when it had become degraded. The main idea that Caitanya taught was bhakti, devotion, to the Lord. I have no qualfication to write of these things, as I am sure to make so many errors; but I hope to spark interest in bhakti, that those who read this will search it out for themselves.

An elephant in a river cannot swim against the strong current, even though it is so great in size and power-- yet a fish, who is very small, can swim against the current very easily. What is the reason? The fish takes shelter of the river. In the same way, if we take shelter of the Lord, then we can cross the ocean of birth and death without difficulty. This is the teaching of many acaryas. What is the order of the universe? The Supreme Lord instructed that bhakti was the correct way to live, and that a devotee of the Lord will never perish.
