Paul: Pablo what's wrong with you.
Pablo: Who are you?
Paul: I'm you. This is my real name.
Pablo: Oh, I thought I was Spanish.
Paul: Not really. So why are you so upset.
Pablo: I fear I'm never going to get to Dos Passos.
Paul: Why not?
Pablo: Well if you remember, you bought the USA trilogy, but before reading it you decided that you wanted to read other authors of the late 19th - 20th centuries?
Paul: How can I forget?
Pablo: Well, and you've done this before, you keep getting these urges to slip other books into the sequence.
Paul: No I don't.
Pablo: Yes you do. Remember when you decided to give Upton Sinclair a second chance and read King Coal. Well, you're about to do it again.
Paul: Really?
Pablo: Right. You're reading that Main Street by Sinclair Lewis. It's all about life in a small town. You're thinking of reading Winesburg, Ohio next as a comparison. If you keep slipping these books into the sequence, you'll never get to Dos Passos.
Paul: You don't think I should do it.
Pablo: Heck, no. You read slow enough as it is. After Main Street, you are 3 novels away.
Paul: Maybe I should stay out of those used book stores.
Pablo: Just think about what you're doing.
I MUST BE NUTS, BUT I REALLY THINK I'M GOING TO ADD WINESBURG, OHIO TO THE LIST BEFORE DOS PASSOS.
