Halls of the Dark Muse

I truly am hopeless. I have mentioned before that online I tend to be perceived as a guy.

Well there is this Poetry Forum in which I belong to, and they were having this poetry competition and for the competition, you were given a theme, and a title, and had to write your poem around those things and make it as original as you could.

So the theme was Love and the title "A Letter to Offspring"

And well I had one of the judges say that my poem came off as being the voice of the father, and a couple commented that it was not really "emotional" or "compassionate"

Though that was not exactly my intent I do find it amusing. And well it is true, that when it comes to human spawn I really haven't a maternal bone in my body.

If I had wrote the poem as if I were writing a letter to my cats, it probably would have come off a lot more warm and fuzzy.

But instead I took this sort of abstract view of it, and wrote the poem as a sort of Goddess figure addressing womankind.
