Raccoon's courthouse crime spree ends with capture

The day the raccoon had a brawl in the Atlanta Court of Federal Bankruptcy Law,
The poor Judge thought that he had lost his mind…
There were Law Briefs all strewn on the floor and his snack was by the door—
Eaten away leaving only the rind…
It wasn’t a big crime revival, the poor creature just needed survival—
But it shouldn’t have left so much evidence behind…

The Judge leaped to the door shouting and screaming, and cops came running like he’d seen a demon,
And the Judge didn’t know what had got loose in his 14th Floor chamber…
Now Raccoons are clean animals, for sure, but it left footprints on the floor
And a trail of crumbs from dining on the Judge’s platter!
And they discovered mighty quick, it wasn’t the masked thief’s only trick,
When they checked other offices that were adjoining…
And even on the 23rd Floor, they found evidence galore;
From the packet of dried soup the critter had been enjoying!
Cookies were missing on the 10th (Chocolate Chip), on the 9th Floor a sandwich was the dip,
And various other misdemeanors that proved the Raccoon could hustle;
But all felt sorry for the furry miscreant, and a farm will soon have a new tenant—
One heck of a Raccoon that they’ve named “Russell.”

Ah, The Law always does its best, to keep our troubled minds at rest
By locking away all of the zanies…
But it’s hard to keep a sneak thief out, who can wiggle through a gutter-spout
And get in through the tiniest nooks and crannies!
