Ivory Box

Where or where can it be
my heart that was lost in the sea
I hid it away in an ivory box
and tossed away the key

Never thought I'd need it again
and when I look upon the waves
it takes me back to the day
when an ivory heart I tossed away

But there arose
from the mist and the foam
a solider from the sea
and within his hand
he did have an ivory box
which contained my heart

And around his neck
upon a silver cord
he wore the key
to unlock my heart within

Now he holds my heart
and the means in which to set it free
but so brave was he
to find it at the bottom of the sea
with a kiss and a golden wish
I gave my heart away.
