mindless eating

Rate this Entry
Over the summer I have lost a lot of weight. I’ve been able to exercise and watch my diet with ease. However, school has started again and I see a troubling pattern. Every time I sit down to do my homework I want to eat. I’m constantly putting food in my mouth. Sometimes I’ll find myself in the kitchen three different times while working on the same small assignment! Night before last I dreamt that I weighed 257 pounds and I looked like the fat lady at the circus. I had to walk a tightrope in a red and white stripped swimsuit thing and there was fat hanging out all over the place. I didn’t make it to the other side.

Mh, why don't you try to keep some healthy snacks at hand and then munch on them. You would be eating but you wouldn't gain so much weight (I recommend carrots and crunchy veggies and nuts, nuts are awesome.)

I have baki, and it adds up after a while. It's been almonds all day! I just don't like to find myself doing that.

hehe I know what you mean it seems I cant sit down to work on an essay without a bag of Dorritos... bad habit I got into in the first year of uni when I was too busy to cook and lived off doritos and pasta. So this year Ive already begun to stock up on celery and healthy dip ingeredients and oat cakes. as well as rasins ( Id usally have peanuts but I had waaaay to many of tose while working on an essay over the summer and made my self quite ill !)

I actually have little desire to eat. Up until the semester started I would forget meals and had no trouble with wanting to snack. I just find myself chewing and don't realize I've put something in my mouth. I'm trying hard to be more aware and I'm keeping water with me and that helps. I think it's just a stress reaction.

I see...but being stressful doesn't mean you must think of eating, try to go for a slumber for a while or listen to music.Don't chew anything! My classmate chew his pencil before and it is nauseating, but soon his habit altered. It is foolish of him to do it.

I guess you could either change the situation, or you could try to do something else, other than eating, when you are stressed. Of course, that's always easier said than done. And sometimes, you have to change the situation before you can do anything else other than eating.

Or, you could get yourself some phentermine. You won't want to eat anything. You might have some severe mood issues and you may even attempt suicide, but you won't want to eat anything for a while. Or, you could try Ali. If you eat too much fat, you will have to go to the bathroom really bad. And that side effect will persist even when you've stopped taking the Ali. And you might lose a little weight if you do that...

I wasn't able to work out all of last week while mason was so so sick. I did my three miles and my weight training and that really nipped it! Mason is doing much better by the way

i get like that on my days off or when i'm online. tend to eat a lot of dark chocolate!
I'm with baki. Eat carrot sticks. dont eat nuts though. they are good for you but do contain fats and eating too many in the long run will as you say add up.
or (i think it was sleepy who did this while giving up smoking) eat an olive everytime you want to nibble. in the long run your body will be healthier for it.
