Oh no. Motherhubbard, you and your family will be in my prayers.

Mason has had a high fever, loss of appetite, and really bad abdominal pain all weekend. I took him to our back up doctor who ran test but couldn’t determine what was wrong. We were with him and in test for about four hours today and came home to see how things went. When Mason got worse he sent us to the hospital and wanted Mason admitted for IV antibiotics. When we got there we ended up in the ER seeing another doctor who ran some more test including a UA, blood annalists, four chest X-rays, an abdominal ultrasound, and a CAT scan. They still don’t know what is wrong with him. I’ll take him to our regular family doctor in the morning. I think it’s mono. Thanks everyone. I'll update after the dr. tomorrow

We are home from the doctor, again. Nothing conclusive so we go back on Wednesday for more lab work. The doctor is thinking mono, a variant of mono, or tick fever. Mason is having a good afternoon and drank two glasses of water and ate a bit. Thanks for all of the well wishes.

Tomorrow is his birthday and he has planned a HUGE meal. I hope he feels like eating it. He wants an inside cat so we are going to get him a kitten on Wednesday when we finish with the doctor. He and I are cat people.

We got in very late from the hospital last night and our dog didn’t like it. I thought he would get us! It took a lot to convince him that it was us and then he was so happy. His bark is pretty fierce. He doesn’t sound like a puppy anymore.

Very sorry to hear about your little boy's illness, MH. Hope he gets better soon.

I just happened across your entry about your son's illness. I'm so sorry, but glad he's feeling a little better. How very frustrating and scary to have the diagnosis take so long. I hope Mason has a very happy birthday! Happy Birthday Mason!!! Kitties are good. Tabbies, I find, are very affectionate. I hope he continues to improve.
