WHEN YOU FALL, YOU GET UP

When you fall, you get up
If you fall again, you get up again
Yet with every fall you loose something
Every time you fall a little further
Every time it becomes harder to get up
How many times must you fall?
When will it end?
Do you even want to get up again?
You have to
There is no choice
Be prepared to fall again
But hope you’ll stand
That this one was the last
Of your tumbles

Of course if you fall and break both your legs you don't get up.

Niamh Thanks! Virgil With two broken legs it'll just take longer to get up but eventually it'll heal and you pick up the pieces all the same.

The Bible says the just man falleth seven times daily so with a much more abundant record then that I still find it getting a bit harder to recover from the lapses. But I liked the poem anyway.

And I saw this poem as a bit of a reminder of how things are when we fall in love, we lose a bit of ourselves -- that never comes back, really. And with each new love, a bit more of ourselves is lost. But the good of it is that we also build a new 'self' with that which we have shared with the new loves of our lives. Hmmmm... I am too verbose, but I really liked this one, Aimus, irregardless of whether or not you were speaking about love, it really did fit with that idea for me, anyhow. Cheers, K♥zzo
