Well, I'm back up on the slope. Its warm here (10 degrees F) and I don't need a jacket. Its funny, but the snow is already melting eventhough its below freezing.

The computers on site and at several other drilling locations up here got walloped with a virus. Kept many people busy sorting out several issues for a couple of days.

Had a fatality on location. One of the workers up here had a heart attack after working a long shift. Most likely stress induced. Its pretty sad. He had the whole package (wife & kids). Its still work as usual, and I didn't even hear about it except in passing.

Back to the grind.

Just make sure you're taking care of yourself. Very sorry to hear about the poor worker's death. You just don't know. Oddly enough by USAF standards I beat the odds for survival. The suicide rate for my rank/carrer field was embarassing and I was supposed to drop dead by 11 years after retirement. Now on year 15. By the grace of God. Hang in there.

did you say it's "warm" up there??? 10 degree f?!?!? brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

i'm also sorry to hear about your co-worker, that's just terrible. how does a job become so stressful that a man could sustain a heart attack on the job and die? is it the industry you're in that makes workers stress-prone, or does this just depend? thanks b-mental. hope all is okay.

Thanks mtpspur. Yeah, I've been taking it easy. Jon1, its the oilfield. I've worked in it on and off for 10 years and maybe 20 people have died on the rigs while I was on em. Its part of an industry that just uses people. Not complaining, its just the way it is. Stress can add up from heat and cold, long hours and rigorous work.
