Nice going Kiz--a new insecurity. A song I never heard of: High High the Moon by Les Paul and Mary Ford---who?????? in the world were they???? You at least got a classic group with the Doors. Your star continues to ascend while my comes thudding down--lol lol lol lol

On the day I was born it was "MacArthur's Park" by Donna Summer. That fact sounds vaguely familiar to me, though. Still, this is kind of interesting to know. You know how there are those cards that give you all the details from when you were born? Well, this is a little better because rather than just giving you the top hit of the enitre year, you can know exactly what it was ON the day! Oh my goodness, mtpspur! You don't know "How High the Moon" by Les Paul and Mary Ford??? You don't know who Les Paul is?

Haven't a clue Lady Wentworth and I thought I had a fair grasp of 50s music. On the other hand Donna Summer did MacArthur's PArk--must have been a remake as I was in high school when a gentleman (name escapes me now) did it.

Glad you guys are enjoying! But I think, Rich, that you are soooo cute! You are NOT thudding, I do not know that song either. However, I will not cheat and Google this but, isn't Les Paul basically the King of Guitardom? (my hubby would gasp at my 'guessing' here, because he is very much into the world of guitars and electric guitars, and the ilk). Oh well on him -- the day he can give me facts and figures about F.Chopin, will be the day that I will grab a guitar and let 'er rip! (as in a frosty friday in HEck)

I just got off youtube and checked out the song. I want my birthday changed to a different one--maybe Stardust.

Who hasn't recorded "MacArthur Park" at some point?!? The only one that keeps popping into my mind is Andy Williams. Truthfully? I never liked that song. Why couldn't my birthday have been when the Bee Gees had a hit? Yes, Kiz, Les Paul is the king of guitars. I guess he basically made the electric guitar as we know it today. Anyone who is really into guitars knows more than I do. I know the basic facts about him. But I suppose I may know a tiny bit more as he is from right outside Milwaukee. So he basically is common knowledge here. One thing I do know is that all the great guitarists admire him so. Also, all of the guitar fanatics.

Hmm... I was surprised when I saw my one, for I thought I knew already. Then I realised I knew what was the top in Australia! If you don't mind, I'll do similar but post the Australian one? For the American one I got "End of the Road" by Boyz II Men, but in Australia it was "Achy Breaky Heart" by Billy Ray Cyrus

Actually maybe I wont bother, I just checked back and realised that it only goes to 1984 on the Australian one I was using! Maybe I might anywho, for the fun of it

Ok I did Rich. It's definitely not in my music collection, but it does seem like I've heard it. But many of those Doo Wop songs sound alike. Not bad. Thanks for having me isten to it. Perhaps I'll pay for a down load.
