Idiots in a car

Rate this Entry
Today my mam and I went into town to do a spot of shopping. (mainly for my sister in Australia) We left the Stephens Green Shopping Centre and headed down Grafton Street when some moran in an 03 car decided he'd drive down grafton street! (did i mention it is a pedestrian street and only police and money vans are allowed on it during the day) Now this bloke and his rugger bugger mate (both in their school jerseys) persisted on driving down the street, beeping pedestrians, buskers and string quartets out of their way, and there was not ONE Guard on the whole street to stop them and fine them. Typical. When you need a Guard, they arent there, when you dont there are four or five. any way, they get down to the end of the street to a one way traffic street and what do they do? they turn up the wrong way, cut in front of a double decker bus and swing onto to street that runs along by Trinners. Unreal!
And you know what? I think both of us saw the same car later driving down the Luas track! (tram)

And now I remember why I've no desire for my little ones to turn into teenagers:lol: I'm with motherhubbard in saying that they likely thought they were really cool with their shenanigans.

Na i think that they are two idiots who probably missed the dawson street turn at stephens green and rather than go all the way around the world thought, "what the heck! lets go down Grafton Street!" Lets just say there where a lot of annoyed people. and they did almost hit a few people, who in all fairness didnt expect to look up and find a car breaking two inches from them.

Well, I'm aiming to be a better driver than that . I'm glad no one got hit, they really do sound like idiots.

Boys will be boys. Hope they got seriously fined. Hey, what's a money van?

you know, like an armoured van that delivers and takes money to and from establishments like shops, banks and banklinks.

Oh yes. Now I understand. I guess we call them armored vans or is it armored trucks? I don't know, but we have them too. Thanks.

Those punks have an attitude problem, all righty. Just think, they could have injured someone innocent -- I walked the streets in Dun Leary (pardon my spell) that were only for people, buskers and police/fire in emergency times. Those streets are cobblestone and very narrow -- someone could be hurt! So shame on these guys!

I am a van driver and drive in the city center. Grafton Street is not only for pedestrians. At certain times of the day you are allowed drive down there (for access). There is a big sign which tells you this. Are you sure it was not at the top were a side street interects it which follows down by the shopping center. Cars are 110% allowed drive on this part of Grafton 100% of the time. This just across from the park. The no other way to access the front on shopping center or the one way that is on... Sorry but you must be mistaken
