As per my previous blog entry, my best friend and I had tickets for the NIN concert held this past evening (July 31st).

We had tickets on the ground floor, standing only (the most expensive tickets, btw?!), the mosh pit, as it is called.

The warm-up band was good, but what was forthcoming was even better. The crowd was tame (so far) ...

NIN hit the stage, and we were done for. We were three rows away from Trent Reznor himself,

when suddenly the crowd went mental and started moshing and body surfing.



I barely got out of the thick of it with my life

(seriously, when you try to get out of a mosh session, you are treated as part of it).

Watch out!

Found a relatively safe spot on the ground floor from which to enjoy the sweet sounds of my favorite

band, and despite all the beer that was thrown all around us, we had a nice time.

I would NOT want to be part of the clean up crew at a place where such a rowdy crowd partied. Seriously, it was BAD!

What an experience, what a night, and what a great entertainer Trent is!

Woot!

    Well I'm glad you got out safely and that you got to enjoy it! I'm always hearing about the dangers of mosh pits .

    Glad you had a nice evening! But all these people around, that sounds scary. Reminds me also of girls who scream while the singer is performing, and it pisses me off because I would just want to listen.

    I am so glad I don't go to rock concerts anymore. I never really liked the behavior that goes on there. Do they still light up joints? They didn't have mosh pits when I was young (I was about to say your age, hahaha ) so it only looks worse now. Of course if I could get tickets to the Rolling Stones I'd go in a flash.

    This makes me think of the first time I ever saw a mosh pit. Scared the crap out of me! I’m glad you had a great time and got to hear your favorite! I’m also glad that you made it out on your feet.

    Virgil, a jumping jack flash? Anyhow, yes, the mosh pit thing is quite an experience, one I'd like to forget! Let me repeat -- Trent was A W E S O M E !

    The whited sepulchre would like to remind the visitor to a mosh pit that HE does not have bail money available but will write once a year while in prison.

    Sounds like a great concert. Reminds me of the last time I saw Ministry, I was just standing there minding my own business when all of the sudden they started playing a new song and I found myself in the middle of a mosh pit.

    Scary stuff -- hope you got 'back to safety' in a quick and relatively pain-free manner (unlike myself, lol). But yeah, the concert was one I'll remember forever, ha ha!
