Cell Phones 101?

Cell phones -- can't live without them, and yet it is sometimes difficult to live with them. How often have you been laden down with parcels, fishing for your keys to the car, and the darn thing goes off?

Or you are maneuvering your car round and round in a parkade to the stars, and the cell phone beckons? Not altogether too convenient, eh?

Or you are in the library, where you expect that quiet is the norm, and someone is yakking to their bff [best friend forever] in a tone not suitable for concentrating on your book/book quest? grrrr

Anyhow, I had to laugh at one artist's take on this thing about people who speak in their 'outdoor' voice when they are communicating via their cell phone. Portable Cell Phone Booth? -- I really like what this artist has to say, btw, interesting!

Oh, I don't mean to rant about my cell phone ... hey, I'd be lost without it! But there are drawbacks to everything, je suppose!

p.s. My ringtone is "Low" by Flo Rida, and when that thing 'goes off', I jump almost everytime ...

    Wow that is cool! Thanks for sharing! . I have different ring tones set for particular people, but my one for everyone else is "Shake It" by Metro Station . you reminded me of the other morning.... See, my mobile phone (once again... I must use Australian terminology. we call them mobiles! ) woke me up the other day in an unusual way.... Normally it's my alarm anyhow, but one morning somehow I'd ended up sleeping on it, and I got a text at 5:20 am (oh the joy of different time zones) but my mobile was on vibrate.... I woke up with a start!!

    Ha that's great! My ringtone is Boat Drinks by Jimmy Buffett for the first couple weeks it took me a few minutes to realize my phone was actually ringing and I wasn't "just somone elses radio".

    I can live without them. Have been all my life. But having "Low" by Flo Rida as your ringtone rocks! LOL

    That's funny and interesting. If I didn't have a car (especially a car that isn't too reliable), I could live without a cell phone. Mainly because they cost too much. I currently have the cheapest plan possible and it still takes a big chunk of money out of my pocket because of all of those other charges. I need a new one, though. I have never been too thrilled with this one. I still have the "Star Wars" one from 2005. My ringtone has been Maroon 5's "Sunday Morning" for while now. I never seem to get tired of it. I will admit to jumping whenever my phone goes off, too. So, you're not alone, Kiz.

    that does look really cool. I love my cell, but I hardly talk on it, I am a texting maniac. Of course, I'm still trying to stop the whole "texting while crossing streets thing" but my thumbs look pointier that they were before

    Cell phones can be annoyin don't want to hear it, or I may forget it in the car.
