Halls of the Dark Muse

Memory Box

Memory Box

Here the memories are kept
tucked away in a little wooden box
where tears of the past are wept

Resting under a girls pillow as she slept
inside there is a loved ones locks
here the memories are kept

Secrets only for the heart to accept
yellowed photos like fading thoughts
where tears of the past are wept

A place both sorrow and love have met
and time stands still with a broken clock
here the memories are kept

In the corners dust and cobwebs crept
as the sadness in the shadows still knocks
where tears of the past are wept

Within a little box the past is not dead yet
a preservation so dearly sought
where tears of the past are wept
here the memories are kept
