A day in the life of...me!

Rate this Entry
Okay, so life for me is pretty sucky but things happen (even if it’s good or bad, but mostly bad) so not much to talk about. It started Saturday when I was walking from the kitchen to the living room. It’s linoleum to carpet right? And scorpion stung me. Well the pain went away 30 minuets later when I started watching sexy James Bourne kick an assassins butt! Then Sunday I kicked butt, at volleyball. Clay, Brian and I against Amanda, Amy, and Dad. It was hilarious! Then Sunday, Mem’s birthday. Dad and Patty (Dad’s eldest (and only) sister) sang, while the stupid Shih Tzu’s howled. Well nothing much happened until Friday, the dentist. Turns out in July I have to have 6-8 teeth pulled. A week later in impression, 2-3 weeks later an arch metal piece (not a retainer) or in other words, a medieval torture device, then 12-18 months later braces. Wonderful, isn’t it?

I think it's just wonderful. You are one lucky girl especially to have a mother like yours. The scorpion was the pits, but you didn't have to do dishes so it wasn't all bad. You need to spend more time thinking about how wonderful things are instead of how crappy they are. anyone can look at life and find crap but you are not just anyone! You are browneyedbailey, the most amazing young woman in the universe!!! I know the teeth will be a big ordeal, but there was a time that there were no pain medications so you are again lucky there. Once they are done you will have an even more amazing smile than you do now and that’s pretty stinking amazing. I know you’ll miss chewing gum, but it will be over before you know it! You can still have ice cream!

Oh I had braces Bailey. They are not worse thing in the world. I bet you'll look cute. Guys look geeky with braces, but girls look cute. And I think I was a couple of years older than you when I got them. I remember fighting my mother over it. I didn't want them, but the real reason was she couldn't afford it. But she found a way to scrimp and save and got both me and my sister braces. My teeth have looked very nice ever since, and really I have to thank my mother for it. It was a good decision. So if you don't want them now, I bet when you get older you'll thank your mom. Wow 6-8 teeth out? That's a lot. I had to have 4 when I got my braces. It won't be a big deal.

You had a very pretty toothless grin just a few years ago- at least if feels like a few years ago to me.

Sorry to hear about the scorpian -- they really do hurt (though we do not have them up this far North). Take care! And about braces -- well, good luck with that. I had crooked molars that some contraption with rubber bands fixed (but had to have it on for nine to twelve months) -- so I can relate to some degree about medieval tooth torture. But it went fast, Bailey, honest! Good luck to you on the braces thing, you can do it!

I had braces twice, complete with teeth-pulling, headgear, and the metal piece the first time. The second, I had these rubber bands that hook from the top brackets to the bottom brackets to pull the teeth to a certain place...Not to share horror stories, but to tell you that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Don't worry; I know it all sounds daunting now, but just take it one step at a time, and it'll all work out.
