week 4

Damnit! I've done it again. I'm my own worst enemy. Ah well, last week, what did I do? Now that's a tricky one. It's wednesday now and I'm confusing this week with last because I'm writing last week's events this week, so I'm actually in week five but I'd like to fill in the events of week four. My brilliant plan to finally detail what I've done during the holiday is failing miserably. Because one week blurs into another I can never remember what I've done, hence weekly blog updates. Like I said, not doing too well. All I can remember from last week was the usual game playing, I watched the Castle of Cagliostro on film four on monday (another anime for my list) I spent most of the week cross stitching a bookmark (well, they say it's supposed to be a bookmark) it's one of those little sewing things where you follow the pattern provided to make the pictiure, but it's some stupid girly character for pre-teens, so I ignored the pattern and made my own based on templates on the internet. I made it for mum. It's got three tulips, a large butterfly and two strawberries
. I was limited to the paterns provided and the size of the fabric, so I got two more of those ghastly sewing things so I could do some anime characters I found on the internet (there are no craft shops around me so this is the only way I can get the material to do cross stitching. There's never anything useful down the High road, it's all clothes shops for skinny little slags and boys who think they're gangsters. All the cool shops are gone (And by cool, I'm refering to a great little shop stocked with weird things, but I liked it because of the dragon ornaments, because they were the same ones that make up most of my collection of dragon ornaments. Unfortunately, that shop closed down and is now a T-mobile shop. And the book shop across the road was great too, it was joined with a coffee shop and people sat around drinking coffee
but it was bearable because they weren't upstairs in the fantasy section but then that shop got taken over by a bigger, and crapper, firm and soon closed. I don't know what's moved into that space yet but I know it won't be something I like. Now if I need to buy books over here I have to go to WHSmiths and they don't have as many books (So I'm so glad that the uni has a bookshop
))).
What else happened this week?
Ah, as some point during the week (can't remember exactly when) I was in the bath, it was quite late in the evening. Anyway, just lazing around in the bath when there was a knock at the door. We don't tend to answer the door in this house, we're not the kind of people who have friends coming round all of the time and getting things delivered here, so the only people who knock on the door are pointless preachers, "donate to our charity", and "come to read the meter" the other two can sod off and the meter men leave a card so as you can fill it in ans stick it in your window and they'll come back and get the reading from that, so there's rarely any need to answer the door. I was always taught never to answer the door unless you know who it is. When ever the door goes we freeze, listen to see if it's really our door or just the neighbour's, hope they'll go away if it's not important, knock again if it is important, we try to peer out of the window without moving the curtains to see who it is without making too much noise so as to alert them that we're in and only then, if they've got something important enough that they've waited all that time and we know who they are or what their purpose is do we answer the door. Needless to say, the answering the door bit very rarely happens.
Anyway, that was all irrelivent, because I was in the bath and couldn't very well answer the door, although I guessed who it was. When I was sure it was mum I got out of the bath, put on a towel, tried not to get too much dirt and hair sticking to my feet and opened the door for her. She'd forgotten her keys, as well as her phone. Needless to say I was not best pleased. I hate having to get out of the bath and then have my wet feet come into contact with the landing carpet, it's full of dirt and hair and sticks to your feet.
Ah yes, I watched Bottom live 3: Hooligan's Island on DVD some time last week and a strange feature film called Angel's Egg (it's meant to be strange) and one or two other little things to add to my anime list
Okay, I think that's all for now.
Bluebiird out.
