Nature’s Quilt

Winters whispers have long since past
now the sun returns to full glory
sitting beneath the willow in repast
listen to the crickets tell their story

Now the sun returns in full glory
a golden light touched upon the water
listen to the crickets tell their story
of the blossom of the Earth Daughter

A golden light touched upon the water
with a soft sigh, hear a distant bird cry
of the blossom of the Earth Daughter
lamented even by the great blue sky

With a soft sigh, hear the distant bird cry
the flowers weaver beginning to wilt
lamented even by the great blue sky
while summer weaves a golden-brown quilt.

But joys and sorrows come with each season
neither the tenderness nor the sadness meant to last
let beauty be found in each of nature's strokes
colors of the setting sun, fallen feathers, and first blooms are cast.
